2017 NASH Cup – Day Three – Pre-Game
Day 3 – Our Longest Day
The main draw matches start today at 3pm and are expected to run until at least 10pm. The field is extremely tight with 29 of 32 players ranked in the world’s top 100. Of special interest will be Canada’s top 5 women and top 4 men. In its 10 year history, the NASH Cup has been won by Canadian’s twice…and both are in the field today. Shawn Delierre won in 2011 and is making his 6th tournament appearance. Danielle Letourneau stunned the field in 2016 as the #6 seed and has returned to defend her title.
A full crowd is expected at London Squash. Space will be at a premium. Those without seats will be very happy to hear that the closed circuit broadcast on club televisions has been flawless.
Technology upgrades have allowed us to post each evenings matches to youtube for the first time. After the week is complete time will be spent to “clean these up”, but for those wanting to check out the action so far here are the links. Remember that this is raw data. Some patience will be required.

This is a single elimination tournament, so when a player loses their match the competitive week is done. Those by tonight, however, will have the opportunity to travel to Chatham Ontario tomorrow evening where a sold out crowd will be eagerly awaiting an exhibition match at the Maple City Squash Club. The top players who are beaten by tonight will be given priority. This exhibition is a first for the NASH Cup, and something we hope can be expanded in future years.
Reminder: There will be a BarBQ lunch at London Squash & Fitness tomorrow with a portion of each mean going to the UWO squash programs. The lunch will run from 11am to 2pm and is a great opportunity to meet some of our visiting professionals. For added entertainment a doubles Calcutta will start slightly before noon and continue into the afternoon. Guests are most welcome.
Reminder 2: Don’t hold back on posting NASH Cup items on social media. The tournament actively uses Facebook; Twitter; and Instagram.
